Hi there, I'm building Memri (memri.media), a family app for older parents who live alone. Point a phone at an old photograph and the people in it move, and you can ask about them. Point it at a handwritten letter and the words are read aloud. A companion that knows the family's names and stories keeps her company, and she can record her own stories into a keepsake box for the grandchildren. A son or daughter sets it up and tends it. Why I think this is a real business: | • | The need isn't fading. More than 16M Americans 65+ live alone, and 33% of adults 50–80 felt lonely in 2024, back to the 2018 level. (Census CPS via KFF; U-M National Poll on Healthy Aging) | | • | The phone is already in her hand. 78% of adults 65+ own a smartphone. (Pew, 2025) | | • | Each competitor does one part. Memoir apps capture a story once ($39–$219/yr); companions call daily ($29.99–~$40/mo); photo tools animate faces without speech. No one does all three for the family. | | • | Trust is the moat. People 60+ reported $7.7B in fraud losses in 2025, including voice-clone scams. (FBI IC3) Memri never clones a real voice without documented consent and always says it is AI. |
We are pre-launch, with no users or revenue yet. We're proposing a $1.5M pre-seed to launch the app, prove retention and run two senior-living pilots. Given your work on family and aging-care products, I think it's worth 20 minutes of your time. Read the 15-slide deck Founder, Memri memri.media
